Pizza Pasta Skewers
A light and healthy twist to the calorie-dense pizza. It's a great way to sneak in extra vegetables and a perfect snack or meal for kids and adults.
Equipment
- 1 pot
- 1 baking sheet
- 1 parchment paper
- 8-10 wooden skewers small
Ingredients
- 1/2 bag whole-wheat penne pasta or 500g
- 1 cup pizza sauce homemade or store-bought
- 1 cup shredded cheese low-fat
Optional toppings:
- 1/2 cup olives
- 1/2 cup bell peppers (any color) cut to preferred size
To serve:
- oregano, Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in a pot according to the packaging instructions. Usually 8-10 minutes.1/2 bag whole-wheat penne pasta
- Rinse and drain the cooked pasta with cold water.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Thread the cooked pasta through the skewers (6-8 pieces) and arrange on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the pasta skewers with the pizza sauce and add you favorite toppings and cheese.1 cup pizza sauce, 1 cup shredded cheese, 1/2 cup olives, 1/2 cup bell peppers (any color)
- Bake for 10-15minutes or until cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with oregano or Italian seasoning.oregano, Italian seasoning
