Date and Oat Bars Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups oats
- 1 tbsp flax seeds
- 1/2 cup almonds
- 1 cup dates seeds removed
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp cocoa powder unsweetened
- 60 g dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- 2 tbsp coconut shredded
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Add the oats, almonds, and flax seeds to a parchment-lined baking tray and toast for 10 minutes in the oven.1 1/2 cups oats, 1 tbsp flax seeds, 1/2 cup almonds
- Soften the dates in the microwave for 1 minute or until they soften.1 cup dates
- In a large bowl, mix the remaining ingredients. Add the honey and softened dates.2 tbsp honey, 1/2 tsp cocoa powder, 60 g dark chocolate, 2 tbsp coconut, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 pinch salt
- Line a baking sheet or pan with parchment paper. Add the mixture and press firmly into the sheet or pan.
- Cover the baking sheet or pan and freeze for at least 15 minutes.
- Cut the mixture into 10 bars and place in an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for a maximum of ten days.
